The concept of Smart City has evolved into a significant research area due to its immense potential towards improving quality of human life. This quality improvement of urban living is achieved by monitoring, analysing, and improving many aspects of our every-day activities such as public services, traffic management, building and infrastructure operations, and social interactions among many other scenarios. We contribute by researching novel deployment mechanisms of large-scale sensor networks for monitoring, platforms for information processing, high performance computers for analysing, and real-time actuators to interact promptly with the environment.
