SENODs first Milestone review highly successful

Under the SENODs project (Sustainable ENergy-Optimized Datacenters), CISTER researchers are working towards constructing integrated solutions to address both the cyber and physical challenges posed by the large-scale energy consumption, cooling, and operational needs of large data centres.

The current development of SENODs motivated a visit by a team from Portugal Telecom (PT) Data Centre Services department, including the national head of operations. This visit consisted in the review of the first milestone of the project, to which an initial prototype of the architecture was developed. This prototype was deployed in ISEP’s own datacentre and provided a demonstration of the architecture and solutions that latter will scale to much larger data centres at PT.

The developments presented at this milestone were highly commended by the PT representatives and provide a solid foundation for the future efforts to come.
