Sérgio Duarte Penna graduated in Mechanic Engineering at the Engineering School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (EE-UFMG), Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 1978.

He obtained a Master degree in 2009 and a PhD in 2021 in Aerospace Engineering and Technologies at the National Institute of Space Research (INPE) in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

Sérgio joined the aircraft manufacturer EMBRAER S.A in 1982 as a Computer Programming specialist in the Flight Test Instrumentation Department, became Team Leader in 1998 and was appointed R&D Coordinator for the EMBRAER Test Directory in 2015.

He is member of the International Consortium for Telemetry Spectrum (ICTS) and of the Telemetry Standard Coordination Committee (TSCC) sponsored by the International Foundation for Telemetering (IFT), USA.

Sergio has been coordinating the interface between CISTER/ISEP and its partners for the ADACORSA project.
