Venue

The SIES 2013 conference will take place in the ISEP Campus. ISEP is located in the University area in the north of the city, and it is served by the Metro line D (Yellow Line, "IPO" or "Polo Universitário" stations) with a direct connection (15 minutes) to the city center (downtown).

There are several major events in the city during the SIES 2013 conference period and hotel availability is limited. Please BOOK EARLY!

Campus Area Hotels

There are 3 hotels in the campus area: Hotel IBIS São João is a standard Ibis at 5 minute walking distance, Hotel Eurostars Oporto is an higher standard (larger rooms, etc.) at 10 minutes walking distance, and you also have Axis Porto Business and Spa hotel that offers a sophisticated and stylish environment at less than 20 minutes walking distance.

Downtown with 15 minute access to venue, via Metro

Hotel B&B Porto Centro is a inexpensive alternative with a very local touch in the heart of the city. WiFi is free. Quality Inn Praça da Batalha - Porto is a standard 3 star hotel. WiFi is available for 5 EUR/day. Grande Hotel Porto is a charming 3-star hotel which maintains a dramatic, nineteenth-century, fin de siècle charm. It is also well located from a transportation perspective. SIES 2013 has a special rate of 80 EUR a night for a single or double room, all taxes and breakfast included, please state SIES 2013 when making the reservation on the website and the rate will be applied after the reservation. Special rates available for a limited set of rooms, and only until 31 May!

Hotel Porto Trindade is a 4-star hotel located right in the traditional centre of Porto, with easy access to the main tourist attractions of the city and just across the street from Metro station of Trindade. Rates are around 70 EUR for a single room and 80 EUR for a double room.

Hotel Teatro features 4-star contemporary accommodations in the heart of Porto. Each room offers an individual and modern design with earthy tones, however the dark design may not be everybody's cup of tea. Rates are around 115 EUR for a single room and 125 EUR for a double room.

Low cost

The Star Inn is a low-cost design hotel with single rooms starting below 30 EUR per night, all taxes included, no breakfast, 1 person per room. The hotel is located at a walking distance from the conference location (25 minutes).

Five star hotels

The Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa features spacious rooms and a modern spa. The design guest rooms are decorated with a mix of wood, steel and glass furnishings. The rates are 140 EUR per night for a single room. The campus is at a 5 minute Taxi drive from the hotel.

Porto Palácio combines executive-conscious and luxury rooms with top-notch spa and gastronomic treats. The campus is at a 5 minute Taxi drive from the hotel. To make your reservation with special rates of 100 EUR per night for a single room or 110 EUR for a double (or 150 EUR/160 EUR for a deluxe room), all taxes and breakfast included and also complementary access for 1h30 to some Health Club services please download this registration form, fill it up and send it to reservas@portopalaciohotel.pt stating reference SIES'13. Intercontinental Porto Palácio das Cardosas. Set in a renovated 18th-century palace, this 5-star hotel offers spacious rooms with views of Porto’s historic center. Rates are around 180 EUR per night for a double room. You can reach the campus by Metro (15 minute trip).

The Yeatman is a design luxury hotel in Gaia with focus on the port wine traditions of the city inviting the guest in the wine spa concept and a relaxing environment. Rates are around 220 EUR per night, with all taxes inclusive and free access to the swimming pools and gymnasium. The campus is 15 to 20 minutes by Taxi.
